NMLS Registration
Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS)
The SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 requires all licensed Mortgage Loan Originators to pass a written test developed by NMLS. Each Loan Originator must take the National test component and a State specific test component in order to satisfy the SAFE test requirements of any single state jurisdiction. Loan Originators seeking licenses in multiple jurisdictions, must pass the State specific test component for each jurisdiction in which they wish to get licensed.

Scheduling
To schedule an NMLS test, you must first create an account with NMLS. Click the button below to do this now. By creating an account, you provide authorization for the NMLS to obtain a credit report and you must also provide fingerprints for an FBI criminal history background check.
Before you can schedule an exam time and location, you must first create a Test Enrollment through NMLS and pay the test fee - $92 for the National Component and $69 for the State Component. Log into NMLS using the User Name and Password they provided you by email when you created your NMLS account. You will have a 180 day enrollment window in which you must complete your exam(s).
NOTE: It may take up to 24 hours after you submit your payment to be given acces to the online test schedules at PearsonVue and Prometric.
You can schedule an NMLS exam with the testing provider (Pearson VUE or Prometric) either online or by phone. You must provide your Unique NMLS ID in order to schedule an exam. The city in which you take your exam will determine the testing provider you use. Click the button below to view which testing provider you will use for scheduling your exam.
Note: You will not be able to schedule an exam until you have paid the enrollment fee of $92 for the National Component or $69 for the Florida Component on the NMLS website. After you have paid the exam fee, it takes approximately 24 hours to be given access to schedule your exam.

Confirmation
After you schedule your test, the testing provider you scheduled with, will send a confirmation email listing your test date, your testing time, the address and phone number of the test center, and directions to the test center.
