To qualify for a Florida real estate sales associate license, an applicant must be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or its equivalent, and possess a United States Social Security number. Additionally, applicants must complete electronic fingerprinting for a background check and submit an official application to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). Yes, the Florida real estate exam is widely considered challenging, with state data showing an average first-time pass rate of only 40% to 50%. The exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions administered by Pearson VUE, requiring a minimum passing score of 75%. Your 63-hour pre-licensing course completion certificate is valid for exactly two years from the date it is issued. You must successfully pass the official Florida real estate state license exam within this 2-year window. If the certificate expires before you pass the state test, Florida regulations require you to repeat the entire pre-licensing education program.
