What is License by Endorsement
Individuals who have held a VALID, CURENT REAL ESTATE LICENSE issued by another state for AT LEAST 5 YEARS may apply for Licensure by Endorsement in Florida through Interstate Mobility.
How to qualify:
- APPLICATION
- Submit an application to the DBPR either when the license in the other state or territory is active or within 2 years after such license was last active.
- Submit a current Certification of License History from the state you are claiming experience from.
- Submit a copy of the statutes and/or rules that define the scope of work for the current license.
- The DBPR will decide whether the current state license is substantially equivalent to Florida before approving the applicant to schedule the State Laws and Rules examination.*
- FINGERPRINTS
- Florida requires fingerprints be taken in order to run a criminal background check.
- Submit your fingerprints using a Livescan Service Provider registered with FDLE after submitting your application for licensure.
- EXAMINATION
- Once approved for the state exam, you will receive an “Authorization to Test” email notification from Pearson VUE that you are able to test.
- Pass the Florida Real Estate Laws & Rules Exam by correctly answering at least 30 of the 40 questions (75%).
- HOW TO SUBMIT APPLICATION and FINGERPRINTS
- Go to our How to Obtain a License page for all the application and fingerprinting details.
*The applicant for Licensure by Endorsement may be required to submit documentation on their application that supports equivalency. If the DBPR finds that the license in another state is not substantially equivalent, the applicant may request a review.
